What would you do?

My daughter borrowed her father's cellphone and mistakenly read his message to her eldest sister. He texted our eldest daughter: "good for you that you can break up with your boyfriend, how do you think I feel? I'm stuck with you mom." Now my daughter who read the message is disgusted with her father. How would you handle your husband? How would you handle your daughter if you were in my shoes?
