Rome Total War Barbarian Invasion how to play all factions?

So I have Rome Total War BI and I have modded the desc.strat file in the data files to were I should be able to play as any of the factions, but for some reason when I click on the Burgundii or the Lombardy the game will crash. But when I play as the celts it works just fine. So im wondering if I might have made a mistake or something in with the cutting and pasting, so can somebody give me some advice as to, how to fix my problem.
