Guys, how would you feel if she went back and forth about her feelings for you?

I have a guy friend who's "girlfriend" or something... doesnt know if she likes him. Since they were in 6th grade, now in high school, they liked each other. In eighth grade, they went to the Valentine Dance, then she regretted it and dumped him the next day. Four days later she is with a new guy. Three weeks later that guy dumps her. At the eighth grade grad dance, they go out together. School ends, and now in ninth grade since school recently started, they both dont know what's happening. As a guy would you ever reconsider going out with her again? BTW he is rather ugly, no hard feelings, whilst she is pretty. Also, he is a braniac, and she is a B student... I know I wouldn't.
